Eldora is a major player in the institutional food service industry in Switzerland. We completely redesigned its website to modernize its image, showcase its various business sectors, and streamline content management.
The new site offers a clear and consistent user experience in multiple languages, while highlighting what sets Eldora apart: its expertise, the quality of its cuisine, and its commitments.

A storefront that lives up to the company's standards

The purpose of the website is to introduce Eldora and strengthen its credibility among its various audiences.
Facility managers need to be able to understand what the company offers, assess its expertise, and get an initial sense of its ability to meet their needs. The website thus supports this decision-making process without systematically pushing visitors to contact the company.
It is also aimed at job seekers, the media, the general public, as well as suppliers and partners.

Four clearly identifiable sectors

Eldora tailors its offerings to the needs of four sectors:
  • Schools
  • Higher education
  • Businesses
  • Healthcare (seniors and residents of care facilities)
Each sector has its own challenges, target audiences, and visual identity. We have assigned a specific color to each to make them easier to identify and to give each offering a clear identity.
This system allows us to create distinct brand identities while maintaining overall consistency with the brand.

    Rethinking Information Architecture

The redesign provided an opportunity to completely overhaul the site’s organization and navigation paths.
We began by establishing the site map and the links between the various pages. The information architecture for the key pages was then defined in collaboration with the Eldora teams to prioritize content based on the audiences’ needs.
Mobile wireframes were used to design all screens, prioritizing content, clarity, and ease of navigation.
This approach makes it easy to quickly find:
    • the services offered in each sector
    • Eldora’s commitments
    • news and press releases
    • job openings
    • information for partners and suppliers

      A Web-Ready Identity

The existing visual identity served as the starting point for the new design. We adapted it for digital use to improve the site’s consistency, readability, and accessibility.
An initial series of key mockups helped define the main styles, components, and behaviors. These elements were then applied across all page types.
The result preserves Eldora’s identity while giving it a more contemporary look. The colors of the four sectors structure the navigation, while the photographs and content highlight the culinary arts, the cuisine, and the experience offered at the restaurants.

      A Documented Component System

The pages were designed using reusable components. This system ensures visual consistency across the entire site and makes it easier to create new content.
The pages, components, their variants, and usage guidelines have been documented. This provides Eldora’s teams with a clear framework for updating the site while maintaining design consistency.

      Simpler Content Management

The website was developed using WordPress and its Gutenberg editor. Its block-based system allows teams to create and update pages independently.
The blocks were designed to meet Eldora’s specific needs. They offer enough flexibility to create a variety of content while maintaining the quality and consistency of the layouts.
The site is also available in several languages to showcase Eldora’s activities in the various regions where the company operates.

      Preserving SEO During a Redesign

A complete redesign changes the site structure and URLs of many pages. Without proper precautions, these changes can lead to a loss of visibility in search engines.
We have implemented the technical best practices necessary for organic SEO.
The new architecture also helps search engines better understand Eldora’s activities, sectors, and content.

      An Open and Sustainable Solution

We prioritize open-source technologies to ensure the independence and maintainability of the projects we undertake.
WordPress has a large community and offers numerous opportunities for growth. We carefully select the plugins we use and develop custom features when the project requires them.
As a result, Eldora has a modern, multilingual, and easy-to-manage website that can evolve alongside its offerings and needs.
