Our expertise for the Fribourg public service
One objective was clear from the start of the mandate: to offer the most suitable communication tools for the staff of the State of Fribourg. In the following portfolio, we invite you to discover our approach and the results of this collaboration with the Pension Fund for the staff of the State of Fribourg.

Mandate
The Pension Fund for the staff of the State of Fribourg (CPEF) commissioned us to assist them in creating their new visual identity and website.
With over 20,000 insured individuals, the CPEF is a significant institution in the canton of Fribourg. Their new communication tools needed to meet the expectations and needs of their members. A new name, a new visual identity, and a new website were developed to offer the most suitable communication tools for the staff of the State of Fribourg.
New Identity
Essential Steps
As with every project, whether it’s a web redesign or the creation of a new identity, the first step remains the same: understanding our clients' needs.
The close collaboration with the CPEF working group allowed us to grasp the essence and philosophy of their institution. Through several creative workshops, we were able to immerse ourselves in their sensibilities and define, together, the outlines of their new image.
Letters as "Raw Material"
The choice to work exclusively with a typeface became evident early on. We wanted a logo capable of enduring over time without becoming dated, much like the CPEF.
Without embellishments or other decorative elements, the logo consists solely of lettering, which we meticulously reworked to give it unique characteristics.
The final result reveals the institution's personality—singular, accessible, open, and reliable.
The modularity of this identity allows it to function in two distinct entities depending on the language choice (CPEF or PKSF). A complete bilingual version was designed, with the two acronyms interlocking—certain parts of the lettering fade, allowing space for each other to form a strong and unified whole.
A Vibrant Identity
We envisioned a bright and contrasting color palette to support and counterbalance the highly structured and constructed aspect of the logo. Indeed, this range allows for the creation of dynamic and lively visuals—both print and digital.
To these elements, we finally added playful and fresh-toned illustrations to make the institution shine through the new website and its paper versions.
Web Development
For this project, we selected the CMS Drupal 10. Freshly released at the end of 2022, Drupal 10 brings a considerable array of technological advancements.
However, the choice of Drupal 10 is not incidental for this type of project.
Firstly, both the CPEF and the State of Fribourg were already comfortable with this web content management system.
Secondly, Drupal's performance, speed, flexibility, and maturity level—combined with our expertise in it—allowed us to implement the ideal tool for this type of project.
Not to mention, its handling of multilingual websites remains unparalleled in the open-source CMS market.
Additionally, to provide the CPEF with unrestricted content management, we implemented the Paragraphs module, enabling easy editing of pages.
Ultimately, one of the key aspects of this project was sharing documents with the general public. These are important documents that require frequent updates, which needed to be done effortlessly.
Thanks to the integration of the Drupal Media Library, we were able to easily meet this objective.
Conclusion
For a project as ambitious and substantial as this one, it required a motivated and dedicated team and partners at every step.
From the initial brand platform workshops to the validation of the new visual identity and content integration, we worked hand in hand with great intelligence and perfect harmony.
The entire project team collaborated with a common goal: to create the best web platform and the most suitable identity for the personnel of the State of Fribourg.
A big thank you to the team at CPEF for their total commitment and to our two main partners, Fabienn Stoll and Xavier Pilloud, for guiding and supporting us throughout the project.
