Working remote from Miami
We dreamed about it for long enough... and we’re proud to finally have brought about this wonderful project!
After spending two weeks in Miami, we returned to Switzerland mid-December and suffered a bit of a meteorological shock. We were used to summer weather and an evening dip in the jacuzzi. A little holiday under the Florida sun, you say? Not at all! So what were we doing there?
You know us. We’re just teeming with projects and we’re eager to take advantage of every opportunity, challenging as it may be. That’s why we decided to follow in the footsteps of our digital strategist Alberto, who had already made contacts in the city. Together with him, we set for Miami with several objectives in mind:
- Trying out remote work with a large part of our team;
- Networking in a country where anything is possible and everything is simpler;
- Moving towards opening up an agency in Miami;
- Taking advantage of all the other perks, including ArtBasel, THE art & design event of the year.
An ideal work setting in a rapidly developing neighborhood
Once we had set down our objectives and destination, we had to find a work space big enough for our ten team members. We set down our computers in a coworking space called 360° Spaces. Situated in the lively neighborhood of Wynwood, it was an ideal workplace for our two weeks in Miami (aside from the lack of air conditioning…). We were also able to discover all that the neighborhood had to offer. We promise to publish an article soon on all our favorite spots ;-).

Work, work, work...
Aside from our everyday business, we also networked for future projects and collaborated with local businesses by helping them shoot 360° photos for their Google My Business pages. We worked with Helpet veterinary clinic, 360° Spaces, and The Spot Classic Barbershop, a well-known barbershop in Miami. These projects allowed us to lay down our roots in the city and get things started for 2017.
We also immersed ourselves in the world of art and design, thanks to ArtBasel. We visited a number of free exhibits and participated in events all over the city.
We rented two apartments on the 27th floor of a building in the Bayshore neighborhood (across from South Beach). Living in the same space allowed us to discover new things about each other and build on team unity. It was a wonderful experience that we would love to recreate :-)!
Signed, sealed and delivered!
Those two weeks in Miami weren’t all fun and games. We learned how to manage the time difference with Switzerland, working closely with the team members who stayed at home in order to communicate with clients and meet all deadlines. We’ve now officially been recognized in the US as a web agency. 2017 promises to bring plenty of challenges. We can’t wait to take them on!
